The word ‘hospital’ means a place of ‘refuge and shelter’.
Established over 300 years ago, the Hospital was built for soldiers who were unfit for duty as a result of injury or because of long service.
The Hospital still serves its original purpose today.
Patricia is currently photographing a book, "The Royal Hospital, Chelsea, A Year in Pictures, 2010" which will give a rare view of daily life at the Hospital,
the historical ceremonies and its guarded secrets.
Within the book there will be numerous quotes and memories of past wars from the ‘In-Pensioners’
as well as the Great, the Grand and the Warriors from previous centuries who have all played their part in saving our nation.
